Summer is in full swing and that means long days full of sunshine and… jumping fun! For many families, the Trampoline is a favorite item in the backyard. At 12SPRINGS, we understand how important it is to play and exercise safely, so we are happy to share some helpful tips to avoid overheating while Trampolining in the summer. Whether you’re jumping on one of our Akrobat Trampolines or on a 12SPRINGS SPORTS Airtrack or other Airproducts, these tips will make sure you at least don’t overheat this summer.
1. Jump during the cooler hours

The temperature is usually lower in the early morning and late afternoon. Try to choose these times for Trampoline jumping. Avoid jumping in the middle of the day when the sun is at its hottest.
Good to know: you can jump on your Akrobat Trampoline all summer worry-free, as it is made to withstand potential UV damage, so you don’t have to worry about the effects of the scorching sun.
2. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate
Make sure you drink plenty of water before, during and after Trampolining. It is easy to get dehydrated when you are active in the sun. Put a large bottle of water within reach and sip regularly. Or, for example, fill a nice water jug with water and fresh fruit. And beware, very cold drinks actually cause your blood to flow slower, making it harder for your body to dissipate heat.
3. Wear light and breathable clothing
Choose good non-slip socks for hot surfaces and light-colored, loose-fitting and breathable clothing that wicks away sweat. This helps your body cool down better. Jumping in the full sun? Lather up with a good sunscreen.
4. Create shade
If your Trampoline is in full sun, consider adding a shade cloth or umbrella. This can significantly lower the temperature on the Trampoline and provide a cooler place to play and exercise. Do you have a Trampoline on legs, also called an Above the Ground Trampoline, and are you done jumping for a while? Then throw a canvas over the Trampoline. That way you create shade under your Trampoline and instantly have your own cool chill spot.
5. Take regular breaks
Listen to your body and take frequent breaks to cool off. Go inside for a while or find a place in the shade to rest and drink some water. It is important not to jump for too long at a time. Set a timer on your phone or jump, for example, until your favo song on Spotify is over.
6. For parents
Parents, you can play a big role in keeping trampoline activities safe. Keep an eye out, provide plenty of water breaks and be sure younger children are protected from the sun.
7. Make it fun with water activities
Add a refreshing element to Trampoline jumping by, for example:
– place water sprinklers around the Trampoline
– organize a water balloon fight
– jump into the pool from a (mini) Trampoline
Note: do not get the Trampoline too wet, to prevent it from becoming too slippery. What’s nice anyway is that the Akrobat Akrovent jumping mat allows 70% more air through than other jumping cloths. This ensures not only that you jump much better and finer, but also that little to no water remains on the jumping mat. A lot safer!
8. Airtracks and Airproducts.
In addition to Trampolines, our 12SPRINGS SPORTS Airtracks and Airproducts offer a great way to stay active this summer without overheating. Airtracks are perfect for gymnastics and other sports and can even be taken on the water for even more summer fun. You can use them as floating platforms in the pool or on the lake!
Our Airtracks are of very high quality and can therefore be left outside all year round. Do you want to keep your Airtrack neat and clean? Then put it inside during bad weather and winter.
And how about a Slip and Slide in your own backyard? Use water and green soap for this. Is the Airtrack very wet? Then don’t go doing acrobatic elements on it, due to slipperiness. Just dry it off and… ready!
TIP! Airtrack hot from the sun? Wear non-slip socks so your feet don’t get too hot. You can also regularly throw cold water on them or put your Airtrack in the shade for a while.
Temperature changes can make your Airtrack harder or softer. For example, if the Airtrack is outside in the morning and evening it will be softer than in the afternoon. In any case, make sure there is enough air in your Airtrack and you don’t hit the ground when you jump on it.
Watch for signs of overheating
Be alert to symptoms of overheating such as dizziness, headache, nausea, fatigue and excessive sweating. If you experience any of these symptoms, stop jumping immediately, seek shade and drink water.
At 12SPRINGS, safety is our top priority. With these tips, you can enjoy endless Trampoline fun in the summer without worrying about overheating. Stay cool and jump away!
Have fun and have a great summer!
